Some time ago I set out to researching the genealogy of my family. As with most projects on which I embark, this one quickly spiraled out of control in terms of the scope and depth required to do it justice. I’ve uncovered countless family connections that I never would have known about. Recently, I travelled to England with my mother and we set out to visit Oxford and visit her second cousin Mel that she’d never met. Mel and his lovely wife were amazing, artistic, erudite, and interesting hosts and showed us a wonderful time including lunch in their ever-so-english manicured garden. Mel even let me take his portrait. We capped the afternoon off with a quick but amazing tour of Oxford University.
